Fenella's Testimonial plus

"Since I have started Next Steps, not only have I felt so much better and more motivated to get active and fit again, but also I have felt more confident. Being in a group of people who have all experienced cancer and who all have travelled different journeys throughout it, brings a sense of unity and understanding that you are not alone, others are walking the same path as you, maybe at different times but we are all going in the same direction and that is to reclaim our lives back and meet some amazing people at the same time. Our PINC Physio's enthusiasm and encouragement is wonderful and infectious and makes it fun as well guiding us and knowing when she can push us a little or when not to over do it. I relish my Wednesday classes and will miss them when they are over, but do know that we'll continue to meet up and share our stories and journeys together."
Thanks Fenella

Helen's Testimonial plus

While going through my breast cancer treatment I was always optimistic and positive about each and every moment/experience I went through, knowing I was going to get through it all and come out the other side. Returning to my pre-cancer ‘normal’ life was a bit of a struggle, but I told myself it would get better, and I ploughed on. Then the fatigue set in . . . after months of battling I eventually had to give up work and started to feel frustrated, lost and down. I was unfit, constantly exhausted, putting on weight and slowly spiralling down and didn’t know how to get back.

Then I heard of Next Steps. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to take part as I had lost all direction and control and didn’t know how to help myself move on. Taking part has given me back that control of my body, my emotions and my mindset. I now feel motivated and optimistic again! The physical fitness/activity aspect has given me back my belief in myself and a ‘can do’ attitude, that no matter how small my progress, it is progress, and that is all that matters. The classes are so much fun and it is so good to feel exhausted again in a good way! Megan, our physio and the other ladies are so motivating and I love how the classes are structured with step, pilates and yoga. Meeting the other ladies has been such a pleasure and it is was so nice chatting over lunch about each other’s experiences  - talking to people who have gone through such similar journey’s makes you feel you are not so alone and helps put everything into perspective. I would highly recommend the programme to others, and hope that many others get the same opportunity to take part that we have done. Thank you! A fantastic programme!

"I am loving the Next Steps Program. I had been reluctant to join a group gym class thinking I would not be able to keep up with “able bodied” women. With Next Steps we are all on a similar journey and take strength in the challenge together. I so appreciate the opportunity to participate in this course and would strongly recommend it to other women to gain strength and confidence during their recovery".

Many Thanks

"I have just completed the 10 week Next Steps Program and want to say that I thoroughly recommend it. Renee Woods, our PINC Physio has done a great job -endlessly helpful, supportive and fun as well. The exercises and stretches were excellent - challenging at times but adaptable to all fitness levels. I was very doubtful that this would be something that would suit me but ended up thoroughly enjoying it. Well worth doing and I will be doing many of the exercises at home to continue to improve my core strength and flexibility. Also, good to meet others with a similar cancer story".
